Well, let's see ... here are a few photos from this week:
(This is a photo of nothing.
That's what Mom saw in the garage Monday
morning when she went looking for Dad's golf cart)
This was at the end of the field. It was related to the golf cart being missing
Tuesday Cole helped me pick up 4 tree tops plus several limbs that blew out of trees along a field.
Amazing how far some pretty good size limbs blew, all in a straight line
Oh, and I forgot to mention Old Molly.
Aman and Kent were planting a test plot beside the pizza place with the 560 and the six row planter. The voltage regulator came off (still unsure how) and shorted out. Caused a bit of excitement. They unhooked and finished with the 966. We haven't had time to go drag it out of the field.
Thursday the fertilizer spreader truck got stuck about 75 feet east of where I got stuck Friday

We have a beautiful stand of no-till corn right across from the landlord's house. Except the fertilizer applicator forgot the 3 acres west of the lane .. with fertilizer, herbicide, and insecticide. I called Thursday and told the manager I was going to spray it myself with glyphosate but don't have time. Could they do it? We're still not sure what happened.
They've thought on it, checked their records, looked at what was sprayed previous, nothing makes any sense. Current thinking is some kind of problem with mixing two oil based products, sunshine and heat and fast growing corn. Anyway, something about the application had bad effects on corn

Anyplace there was an overlap the corn was this bad or worse. The skips looked pretty good, except so did the grass.
So Saturday I dug up a near perfect stand and replanted it.
At least it was only 3 acres. The Syngenta chemical rep said he had looked at lots of fields with similar problems sprayed on Wednesday and Thursday.
The week wasn't all bad, it's just the difficulties seem to stand out in my mind this week ... and I don't have many photos of the good things on my phone.
On the bright side we got recovered the golf cart, Mom's surveillance cameras and recorder were installed, we found Cole (long story), we planted more seed production, we're "sorta done" with corn planting (still have second planting on seed corn and commercial corn depends on how fast the ground behind Mom's dries out ), Becky's surgery went well, nobody was hurt and nothing broken, the river crested and started back down,.
Maybe I should concentrate on taking photos of good things next week.

Sometimes it feels like we are in the lowly valleys when we are really on the highest peaks when we take a closer look at what we have. Even at our worst life is most usually better than the next guy. God is good. All the time.
